INTERESTING LOT OF PHOTOGRAPHS & BOOKS. Books include 1) Monuments of Washington’s Patriotism – Facsimile of Washington’s accounts from June 1775 to June 1783; leather bound. Included in the book are a number of engravings including one after a painting by Gilbert Stuart engraved by H.S. Sadd, printed by Burton. 2) Experiments & Observations on Electricity… by Benjamin Franklin; Fifth Edition, London 1774. 3) Album dated May 31, 1876 including autographs of friends, some with small poems. Most dated between ’76 & ’80. 4) Andy’s Trip to the West Together With A Life of Its Hero by Petroleum V. Nasby. The small booklet, a satirical of “Androo Johnson”. The booklet is dated 1866 by J.P.C. Haney & Co. Photographs include six period cdv’s and one cabinet card of John Wilkes Booth. Also included is a 5″ x 4″ gutta-percha dag case with a Washington Monument on the cover. SIZE: 1) 14″ x 9-1/4″. 2) 9-1/2″ x 7″. 3) 8-1/2″ x 7″. 4) 7-1/4″ x 4-1/2″. CONDITION: 1) Binding is as is. Interior pages are good with foxing. 2) Book is as found, appears to have several of its plates. 3) Binding with some damage, interior good. 4) Cover with tears and stains; generally intact.
