CARVED AND PAINTED ANTIQUE WOODEN SANDHILL CRANE DECOY. The decoy painted in old greyish-blue paint with black wings and lighter underbelly (the second of at least two coats of paint). Original hole at center bottom for mounting on a peg. Probably made in the first half of the 20th century. A very rare hunting decoy, as hunting cranes was not as popular as ducks. SIZE: 18″ h x 26″ approximate l. CONDITION: Some chips to surface. Bill has repair. Otherwise very good. 9-90403 (1,500-2,500)
