The edges of the crate are reinforced with metal. Backus were manufacturers of this patented dog carrier “designed for shipping fine dogs and other valuable animals” accompanied by literature of the company. SIZE: 36″ h x 40-1/2″ l x 28-1/4″ w. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of John Jacob Astor IV, for his Airedale dog “Kitty”.
