MAHOGANY TALL CLOCK WITH ELABORATE 13 TUBE, CHIME MOVEMENT.First quarter 20th century German. Patented March 27th, 1917 U.S.A. Fitted with a very elaborate movement, having 13 tube, chime (full octave). Movement offering quarter hour chime variations and a different chiming score for each day of the week, Notre Dame, St. Paul, Carillon, Westminster, Trinity, St. James, Auld Lang Syne. Movement driven by three weights and having large pendulum. Engraved brass dial having second hand and moon phases with dial controls chime and silent and type of chime. The mechanism was designed by Charles Jacques. Marked on dial “Baden”. Case design number on back of clock is “540”. Mahogany case with beveled glass front and sides. NOTE: Clock is accompanied by maintenance records. SIZE: 89″ t X 25″ w X 18″ d. PROVENANCE: Purchased from George Borgfeldt Co., N.Y. by Charles L. Hartmann.
