FOLK ART SEWING STAND. 19th century. Made from a red a painted pantry box with cover. Two tiered sewing stand made with square nails and post legs, using red painted pantry box and lid for container and shelf with turned wood center handle. Signed “SS” under top, probably maker’s mark. Possibly Shaker. SIZE: 12″ Diameter – 24″ T. PROVENANCE: This lot was once owned by the pioneer collection of American antiques in the early 1920’s, Julia Sinclair Spring. CONDITION: Very good, original surfaces intact. 9-91699 (1,500-2,500)
