SHAKER CHEESE BOX IN BLUE PAINT. Mid-19th century, Canterbury, New Hampshire. This branded example in original untouched blue paint with button hole lapped construction with copper tack and wooden pin joinery with inset chamfered bottom. The lid with early black painted initials “MH”. The underside of lid branded “MASON”, additionally pencil inscribed “Owned by Martena Hubbard Brooks 1853-1916”. SIZE: 12″ Diameter x 6-1/2″ T. CONDITION: Very good, lid with old stable tight age split, bottom band with short early age split. 9-90991 (1,200-1,600)
