SHERATON CHERRY AND FIGURED MAPLE CHEST OF DRAWERS.Second quarter 19th century, New England. The rectangular top with turret corners, the frontal corners with turned rondels, raised on conforming reeded three-quarter colonette pilasters centering four graduated long drawers with birds eye maple fronts within rosewood crossbanded borders and with cockbeaded edges above a shaped apron raised on tapering cylindrical feet. SIZE: 35″ h x 40-3/4″ w overall x 18″ d overall. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Chest structurally very good. Surfaces clean and repolished. Brasses are of the period but not original to chest. A 2-1/2″ x 1″ diamond patch at center of top near back of chest. Otherwise good. 9-93340 (800-1,200) – Lot 2595
