SHERATON CHERRY AND FIGURED MAPLE CHEST OF DRAWERS.

Second quarter 19th century, New England. The rectangular top with turret corners, the frontal corners with turned rondels, raised on conforming reeded three-quarter colonette pilasters centering four graduated long drawers with birds eye maple fronts within rosewood crossbanded borders and with cockbeaded edges above a shaped apron raised on tapering cylindrical feet. SIZE: 35″ h x 40-3/4″ w overall x 18″ d overall. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Chest structurally very good. Surfaces clean and repolished. Brasses are of the period but not original to chest. A 2-1/2″ x 1″ diamond patch at center of top near back of chest. Otherwise good. 9-93340 (800-1,200) – Lot 2595
