NEOCLASSICAL GILTWOOD MIRROR. First quarter 19th century, Scandinavia, probably Sweden. The architectural crest above the molded cornice carved with anthemion leaves above the frieze set with two classical figures depicting a partially clad female seated on the throne being serenaded by an attendant playing a lyre. The rectangular mirror plate within a molded surround carved with foliate elements above the rectangular apron of concave form applied with gilt Athenian leaves flanked by classical busts.
