ELABORATELY INLAID EMPIRE STYLE SECRETAIRE ABBATANT. First half of the 19th century. Fine example with elaborately inlaid sides having urn, flower, and bird motifs. Drop front inlaid with tavern scene. Drawers inlaid with moth and paterae decoration having ormolu-mounted striped inlay columns above striped inlay block feet. Interior fitted with seven drawers. Interior drawers inlaid with scroll motif. Elaborate ormolu hardware with cameo portraits. Mahogany with oak secondary wood. SIZE: 40″ w x 20″ d x 62-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Overall very good with normal shrinkage and very minor loss to inlay. 9-90972 (1,000-2,000)
