CLASSICAL MAHOGANY MARBLE TOP PIER TABLE. Second quarter 19th century, probably Boston or New York. The rectangular white marble top above the conforming frieze with gilt metal mounts of athemion leaves and floral rosettes raised on graphic carved Corinthian columns, the rear flattened molded supports centering a rectangular mirror plate, all joined to a mahogany shelf with incurved front and conforming gilt metal mounts raised on frontal acanthus carved claw feet, the rear terminating in suppressed ball feet. SIZE: 37-1/2″ h x 30-1/4″ l x 18-1/2″ d. CONDITION: With professional restoration to areas of veneer, shelf with normal and expected shrinkage cracks, surfaces repolished.
