FINE PIECED AND QUILTED STAR QUILT.

Last quarter 19th century pieced cotton calico on cotton background consisting of a large central eight pointed star made up of radiating and alternating ten colored diamond shaped calico pieces. Having four smaller six point stars in each corner with a band of star points for a border. Very finely quilted in a meandering leaf and scroll pattern, all hand stitched including border. Some cotton seeds apparent in batting. SIZE: 115″ x 115″ PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Generally very good. 9-93396 (1,200-1,800) – Lot 2490
