RARE SHERATON MAHOGANY SEWING STAND. First third 19th century, possibly Philadelphia. This unusual example fitted with demilune compartments at the ends, each with hinged lid above conforming tambour ends mounted as a pass-through drawer. The side fitted with two short drawers above a panel, the opposing side with simulated drawers, both sides flanked by reeded pilasters, the whole raised on cylindrical, reeded, tapering, ring-turned legs terminating in brass capped casters. SIZE: 30-1/2″ h x 25-1/2″ l x 50-1/2″ w. CONDITION: The top with old restored shrinkage crack and several old veneer patches. Simulated tambour ends with old restoration.
