New England, first quarter 19th century. Scrolled back topped with cylindrical element terminating on both ends with acanthus leaf carvings. The arms faced with carved acanthus and floral elements. The front with acanthus car panels, all sitting on feet with carved hairy paws, the front two with carved spiraling cornucopia filled with acanthus and fruit having older, appropriate striped upholstery.
