FRANKLIN FIRE SOCIETY LEATHER FIRE BUCKET.

Early 19th century, Massachusetts. Paint decorated with an eagle & banners that read “FRANKLIN FIRE SOCIETY SHATTUCK 1830” with painted inscription “Charlestown” on reverse, impressed “BOYD MAKER BOSTON 2”. SIZE: 13-3/4″ h x 8″ dia. PROVENANCE: Norm Flayderman Estate Collection. CONDITION: Typical losses & craquelure to paint, lower banner “SHATTUCK” slightly later paint, probably to paint over the previous name. Left side of handle detached, right side of handle leather lug an old replacement. 9-93031 (3,000-5,000) – Lot 2482
