ATTRIBUTED TO EMMA JANE CADY (American, 1854-1933) OUTSTANDING THEOREM STILL LIFE OF BOWL OF FRUIT.

Fine watercolor shows a clear pedestal bowl filled with grapes, pears, peaches and cherries. A butterfly and three dragonflies above and below. The bowl sit atop a grain painted and faux marble shelf. Housed in a period gilt wood frame with gilt liner. The clear compote & hanging cherries are typical features in Cady’s work.
