FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY TILT-TOP CANDLESTAND.Late 18th-early 19th century, Connecticut. The elongated octagonal top with central oval pinwheel inlaid paterae, the top edges with satinwood stringing, tilting on a cylindrical ring-turned shaft raised on a tripod spider leg base terminating in molded pointed feet. SIZE: 28-1/2″ h x 24″ l x 16″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection.
