19th century, probably Eastern woodlands. Scoop elaborately carved from single piece of horn, thin, dished oval scoop, handle round carved, arrowhead shaped, with fox and eagle heads, fine red, white & yellow beads between. Applied copper eyes. Fox’s ears, nostrils & mouth painted red, eagle’s beak painted yellow. Now with museum stand. SIZE: 8-1/2″ overall.
