PAIR OF SILHOUETTE PORTRAITS OF ROBERT AND HANNAH KNOWLTON.

Early 19th century, New England. Two oval cut-work and watercolor silhouettes. The first of a cut-work profile figure of a gentleman with black fabric background having a black watercolor coat, lapels and hair identified on reverse as “Uncle Robert Knowlton, Concord, NH.” The second with profile figure of a woman with cut-work head and dress revealing fabric background having pencil and watercolor detail featuring bonnet with yellow bow pencil drawn lace collar with yellow ribbons identified on reverse as “Hannah Knowlton, wife of Robert Knowlton. Both now housed in oval carved and black painted frames with “William J.
