PAINT DECORATED PINE CANDLE BOX. Early 19th century, New England. The sides with detailed colorful scrolls and a central disk depicting a fanciful landscape with water and islands against a sunlit sky. One end decorated with a deer, the opposing end with a floral spray. The thumb molded and chamfered top decorated with cornucopia, flowers and delicate scrolls. The underside painted with the name “H. Haldeman”. SIZE: 12″ x 3-1/2″ x 3″. CONDITION: Top with edge loss on one side, otherwise very good with minor age appropriate paint abrasions. 9-90985 (500-800)
