FEDERAL INLAID CHERRY BOWFRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Late 18th/early 19th century, Coastal Massachusetts or Eastern Connecticut. The rectangular top with bowfront edge and contrasting string inlay above the conforming case fitted with four graduated long drawers and with cockbeaded edges above the shaped apron raised on delicate splayed French feet. The chest retains original brasses, the drawers with chestnut secondary wood and original chestnut backboards. SIZE: 37″ h x 40-1/2″ w x 20-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Maine estate.
