Oil on canvas half portrait of a middle aged woman in a burgundy dress with matching shawl. She wears a suite of jewelry, including bracelet, oval broach, rings and watch chain and seated in an upholstered chair. Signed on the crestrail “Painted by N Cook.”. Also having a modern identification on back of stretcher for sitter and artist. Housed in a period gilt portrait frame with gilt liner (some edge losses).
