IMPORTANT WILLIAM AND MARY PINE TRANSITIONAL TALL CHEST OF DRAWERS.

First quarter 18th century NH. This fine example, retains original red painted finish now dry and crusty and the original batwing brasses, with rectangular molded tray top, joined to the conforming case fitted with two aligned short drawers over four graduated long drawers all with thumb-molded edges on a molded base raise on bracket feet. Note: this chest was removed from a house where it had originated and has since been in two private collections. SIZE: 48″ h, 40″ w of case, 43-1/2″ w overall x 20″ d. CONDITION: Very good original condition as noted. Heavy craquelure on all exposed surfaces, rosehead nails throughout.
