Allegorical “Grand Tour” scene featuring an elegant, well dressed lady with plumed hat and book in watercolor; pyramids, ships and exotic scenery background. Enhanced with silk seed stitch foliage. Provenance on reverse in ink: “Done by / Lucy Merrick Forward / Grandmother of Lydia Ashley Campbell (Mrs. C.S. Campbell) / About 1785″. In original lemon gold frame. SIZE: Sight: 10-1/2″ x 13-1/2″.
