RARE PILGRIM CENTURY CANDLESTAND.

Second half 17th century RI or CT. This fine example with octagonal top and X-form base in pine, maple and chestnut. The single board pine top pined to the baluster-turned chestnut pedestal raised on stepped mortised cross base. The whole in original dry Spanish brown wash. SIZE: 24 1/2″ h x 14″ w x 14″ d. CONDITION: Dark untouched patina retaining original rosehead nails. Top with old stabilized shrinkage crack. Bottoms of feet show old caster holes. Bottom of post with added stabilization plug.
