FINE FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY PEMBROKE TABLE.Last quarter 18th century, Philadelphia. The rectangular top with bowed ends and hinged demilune leaves with contrasting string inlaid borders above the conforming frieze fitted with a bowfront drawer opposing a sham drawer, each crossbanded. The table raised on square tapering legs, each with oval paterae inlaid with a fanciful eagle perched on a plinth above delicate belleflower inlays within contrasting string inlaid borders with rosewood cuffs. SIZE: 28-1/4″ h x 19-3/4″ w (closed) x 32″ d. Table open: 41-1/2″ x 32″ oval. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: The professionally polished original surfaces with soft colored mellow patina. Small restoration to edge of top at proper left rear hinge.
