GAFF-RIGGED SLOOP MODEL. Late third quarter 19th century, New England. Fully rigged mahogany planked model with carved eagle figurehead and stern board featuring an oval deck house with glass windows and slider hatch continuing to a circular companionway. The model additionally with stovepipe, dory, anchors, and working tiller. Deck house with contrasting plank construction. Fabric sails probably cotton striping on linen. Hull with nicely varnished surfaces. Now mounted on a modern display stand. SIZE: Overall: 33-1/2″ h x 38″ l. CONDITION: Very good original condition with nice patina. 9-92986 (2,000-3,000)
