16TH CENTURY NUREMBERG ETCHED IRON CASKET. The rectangular body with hinged lid and raised ball feet. The lid having a swing bail carrying handle, keyhole with movable escutcheon. The top engraved with two side portraits, four sides and bottom etched with foliate designs. The lock with two tumblers and key. SIZE: 2-1/4″ h x 3-1/2″ w x 2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Kentucky Estate. CONDITION: Key is stuck in keyhole, etching rubbed. 9-92285 (1,000-2,000)
