PAIR OF CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY AND CHERRY SIDECHAIRS. Third quarter 18th century, New England. The molded and shaped crest rail above an “owl’s eye” backsplat joined to nicely carved and shaped crest rail fitted with slip seat raised on square legs joined by recessed “H” stretcher. SIZE: 38″ T x 17-1/4″ to top of seat rail. CONDITION: Minor restoration to legs and replaced glue box, slip seats indetermined because of upholstery. 9-92113 (400-800)
