Pair of late 18th century mahogany knife boxes having conch shell oval inlay on slanting lid having serpentine front all banded in satinwood inlay with compass star decoration inside top and similar banded inlay on cutlery dividers. SIZE: 14 1/4″ H, 11″ L, 8 1/4″ W CONDITION: Both in very good condition, one having replaced hinges apparently of the period and similar to original hinges with fill holes showing where replaced hinges once were. good old refinish if not original. 9-94005 (4,000-6,000) – Lot 2241
