CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CORNER CHAIR, MASSACHUSETTS.

Massachusetts, Boston-Salem area, mid 18th century. The cushion-back crest and outward scrolling hand rests and two solid vasiform splats above a serpentine slip seat on a frontal cabriole leg ending in a claw and ball foot; the other legs turned and ending in pad feet with a block and turned cross stretcher. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h x 22″ w x 22″ d. PROVENANCE: The Derby Family; The Estate of Charles H. Peter Derby; Israel Sack.
