CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY TILT TOP TABLE.

Last quarter 18th century, New England. The circular single-board top with carved pie crust edge tilting on an urn-form fluted acanthus carved standard raised on a tripod cabriole leg base, acanthus carved at the knees, terminating in foliate carved platform pad feet. SIZE: 26-1/2″ h x 23″ dia. PROVENANCE: Doyle’s Auction, New York. From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Table retains rich brown color with mellow patina. The table top slightly bowed. Professionally repolished old surfaces. Professional restoration to base of shaft and juncture of legs. Generally good. 9-93321 (800-1,200) – Lot 2209
