CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY TILT-TOP CANDLESTAND.Last quarter 18th century, Salem, Massachusetts. The rectangular octagonal top hinged and tilting on a ring-turned urn form with spiral-twist standard raised on pronounced ridged arched cabriole leg tripod base embellished with molded C-scroll elements terminating in well formed ridged platform pad feet. SIZE: 28″ h x 21″ l x 15-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Table retains original surfaces, professionally repolished and cleaned, structurally intact, no restoration visible to base, minor and minimal chips on shaft.
