HISTORICAL YELLOWWARE PITCHER. A two transfer political and historical yellow ground pitcher with polychromatic highlights. The first transfer is of Henry Hunt, Esq. surrounded by an American Navy ship, flags and cannons with the motto underneath “NONE OF YOUR BUTCHERING MAGISTRATES”. The other transfer reads “NO CORN BILL” “UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE” and “ANNUAL PARLIAMENTS and VOTE by BALLOT”. The balance of the transfer has military arms, a liberty cap, a St. George pennant and 2 scrolls, one marked “BILL OF RIGHTS” and the other “HABEAS CORPUS”. Transfers are deep red as is some of the floral decoration at the top of the pitcher. Other decoration includes green flowers and copper lustre highlights. SIZE: 4-3/4″ H x 2-7/8″ W. PROVENANCE: From a private New Jersey collection. Ex Arthur J. Sussel Naval Collection sold by C.G. Sloan & Company, January 1978. CONDITION: Generally good with lustre highlights showing some wear and a 1″ hairline near the handle. 9-90908 (1,000-1,300)
