AMERICAN HISTORICAL PITCHER OF THE WAR OF 1812. This Staffordshire style pitcher has a yellow colored body with pink lustre highlights. There are two transfers. Each transfer is a bust of Commodore Bainbridge in uniform surrounded by spray of arms, US Naval ships, a flag and cannon. Both transfers are entitled “Commodore Bainbridge”. SIZE: 6-3/4″ h x 3-7/8″ w. PROVENANCE: From a private New Jersey collection. Ex Arthur J. Sussel Naval Collection sold by C.G. Sloan & Company, January 1978. CONDITION: Pitcher is in generally near excellent condition with only minor roughness around the spout. 9-90904 (1,500-2,000)
