AMERICAN HISTORICAL PITCHER OF THE WAR OF 1812. This Staffordshire style pitcher has a green ground body with a pink lustre decorated top. The pitcher has two military transfers, one depicting a bust of Maj-Gen Brown together with a spray of arms, drum, cannon, and Niagra Falls. The title of the transfer “Major Genl BROWN Niagra”. The other transfer is a bust of Comm Bainbridge in uniform with a spray of arms, ships and a flag. The transfer is titled “Commodore Bainbridge”. SIZE: 5-1/2″ h x 3-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: From a private New Jersey collection. CONDITION: The pitcher appears generally fine, however there is a detectable restoration to the bottom and body of the pitcher. The extent of the damage and subsequent restoration cannot be determined. 9-90905 (700-1,100)
