2nd half 19th century. In the rococo style, the bombe case with tortoise shell veneer and gilt mounts surmounted by an ornate urn finial. The central glass panel door opening to an enameled dial, the chapter ring with blue enamel roman numerals. Dial marked “France” and “Tiffany & Co.” above the time and strike apertures. All above a gilt “Sun King” pendulum with makers name on the reverse. The case raised on scrolled ram’s horn feet. The eight day brass movement striking on a gong stamped on the back-plate “Tiffany & Compy” with the serial number “4743.” additionally, the plate stamped with a faint makers mark “…Aux Medaill…” SIZE: 26-1/4″ h x 12-3/4″ l x 6-3/4″ d.
