PAIR OF SHEET IRON HOODED CANDLE SCONCES. Early 19th century, New England. The pair with tri-lobed hooded crests, crimp decorated, above fluted and tapering backs with rolled edge. The bobeches with rolled edge, the slotted candle cups with folded edge. NOTE: See “Furniture Treasury” by Wallace Nutting, Plate 4244, for illustration of nearly identical pair. SIZE: 12″ T. CONDITION: With pewter gray patina and with vestiges of original tinned surfaces and with age appropriate oxidation. Very good overall. 9-92082 (1,000-1,500)
