ITALIAN RENAISSANCE STYLE TABLE CABINET.

Italian Renaissance style bone inlaid table cabinet partially incorporating 17th century panels. Rectangular top with molded edges above a paneled door with pierced strap hinges & scrolling escutcheon, frame molded door centering a bone inlaid armorial shield sitting atop ringed disk feet. Door interior centering well detailed regal figure with crown & coat of arms inlaid in bone. Interior fitted with 8 drawers decorated with city buildings inlaid in bone, and a central cupboard door with inlaid tabernacle frame, tile floor and the figure of a woman holding a rose. Drawers of dovetailed construction. SIZE: 17″ h x 15″ w x 12″ d. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Anthony M. Kurland Jr of Maine. Archaeologist with degree from Yale and PhD from Harvard. Bonhams & Butterfields, San Francisco, May 21, 2006, Lot 4638. CONDITION: Very good with minor chip near door lock & repairs consistent with reconstruction.
