RENAISSANCE REVIVAL GOTHIC BURR WALNUT BRACKET CLOCK; COOK AND BURCHETTE, OXFORD STREET, LONDON; TOGETHER WITH MATCHING SHELF.Mid 19th century, England. Of architectural form, the case is headed by three Gothic finials centering the peaked crenellated cornice above the arched door carved with leaf tips opening to the silvered dial with foliate decorated spandrels centering the maker’s name within the chapter ring surmounted by a cadence, strike/silent, and tune dial. The brass works with a triple fusee, three train, eight bell and gong movement. The face flanked by engaged cluster columns on canted corners, the sides with pierce carved floral arched openings above the carved apron of aligned arched molded plinth. SIZE: 28-3/4″ x 18-1/2″ x 10-3/4″. Shelf is 17-1/2″ x 20-1/2″ x 12-1/4″. PROVENANCE: James D. Julia Auctions, August 29, 2007, Lot 874. From a fine private Long Island, NY collection.
