Late 18th century knife box with oval inlay panel of bird and branches on slanting lid having bi-colored herring bone inlay around top and in corners with a serpentine front having two bi-colored inlay simulated columns. Rope inlay and mariners compass inside the lid, similar rope inlay on cutlery compartments. Retaining original hardware.
