IMPORTANT RHODE ISLAND QUEEN ANNE MAHOGANY DROP-LEAF TABLE. Mid-18th century. The rectangular top with hinged conforming leaves of fine figured mahogany, above the shaped apron, raised on blocked tapering legs, terminating in platform pad feet. SIZE: 27″ h x 15-1/2″ w closed. 46-1/2″ w open x 48″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Easton family estate. Label attached beneath table top: “Governor John Easton of the State of R.I. (1690-94), son of Governor Nicholas Easton, property of John L. Easton Jr., Paradise Farm, Middletown, R.I.” By descent through the family. CONDITION: Very fine overall, with rich patina and color.
