CONNECTICUT QUEEN ANNE CHERRY BONNET-TOP HIGHBOY. Third quarter 18th century. Cherry bonnet-top highboy, the base having cabriole legs terminating in pad feet elevated by unusual flattened reed carved lozenge bases. Fitted with a fan carved center drawer, the upper case having an arched pediment with dentil-molded scrolls and floral and foliate rosettes. Upper center drawer with spiraling sunburst carving. SIZE: Lower case: 38″ w. Upper case: 36″ w. Overall: 86″ h. PROVENANCE: Dana E. Tillou, Buffalo, NY, November 2, 2012. From a fine Kentucky Estate. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Victorian brasses added. Newer finials and slight restoration to pediment. Replaced dust board. 9-92249 (2,000-4,000)
