18TH CENTURY ENGLISH TALL CLOCK BY WILLIAM JOURDAIN.

Case of either beech or birch. Having arched bonnet above tombstone door and fitted with brass engraved grill on each side of the bonnet. Sitting on a case a slender case having a tombstone door with round window. All above Bombe base with bold molding and ball feet. The brass dial embellished with dolphins and four season figures. Having a circular engraved center dial with Roman numerals, fitting with second hand and date window. Above the dial in the round lozenge the engraved name of the maker “William Jourdain London”. The two weight brass movement offering time in hours and seconds and the date and having a domed bell chime. SIZE: 90″ tall. CONDITION: Overall very good.
