EARLY 18TH CENTURY CARVED OAK COFFER.Late 17th/early 18th Century, England, being constructed of quartered oak with the top having three carved panels and frame with molded edges above a mortise and panel constructed base, the front with carved arched panel molding surrounding three carved tabernacle panels. Chest retains original hinges & lock. SIZE: 26-1/2″ h x 50″ l x 21″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Castine, Maine home. CONDITION: Very good retains a wonderful dry surface, minor nicks and crackers commiserate with age. Small loss to underside of top. 9-94353 (1,000-3,000) – Lot 2103
