FINE DIMINUTIVE QUEEN ANNE FIGURED MAPLE SLANT FRONT DESK ON FRAME.

Mid-18th century, probably Massachusetts. The rectangular dovetailed case with hinged sloping lid opening to an interior with a row of valenced cubby holes flanked by stepped bank of two small serpentine front drawers above a single drawer with thumb molded edges flanked by lopers, fitted into the molded frame with shaped apron raised on cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. SIZE: 39-3/4″ h x 31-1/2″ w (case) x 34″ w (overall) x 17-1/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Professionally cleaned and repolished, retaining original brasses and lock, surfaces now a bright golden honey color. Very good overall. 9-93342 (4,000-6,000) – Lot 2078
