Second quarter 20th century, Northwest Persia. Blue black field with an arrangement of rare “Golfarang” design, each floral bouquet with ivory, red and pink flowerheads on an indigo field within gold vinery. Wine red main border of stylized lotus blossoms within polychrome trelliswork. Guard borders of red flowerheads within trelliswork, all within candy cane guards. SIZE: 8′ 11″ x 11′ 1″. CONDITION: Some areas of wear to foundation, noticeably at corner and at lower quadrant of field. Also area of wear in main border at midpoint.
