POLYCHROME DECORATED DOME TOP TRINKET BOX. Late 18th/early19th century, possibly Pennsylvania. This fine maple and red oak example, the lid and front with sand painted lozenge banding surrounding blue and bittersweet flowers in stylized pots with foliate corners. The ends with floral sprays, the back decorated with a single flower. SIZE: 8″ x 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good with nice color and patina. Box retains original snipe hinges, wire hasp, and T-head nail construction. 9-90987 (1,000-1,500)
