LARGE PINE CANDLEBOX. Circa 1821, possibly Pennsylvania. The paneled and chamfered sliding lid decorated with a stylized floral bouquet on a blue ground fitted within the molded top. One end painted with the letters “APD” and the date “1821”. The dovetailed box decorated overall with simulated graining with molded borders. SIZE: 9-1/4″ h x 28″ l x 10″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Kentucky Estate. CONDITION: Generally good, the painted and decorated surfaces with wear and abrasions from extensive use, the lid with splinter repair to track. 9-92304 (400-800)
