MOLDED COPPER ROOSTER WEATHERVANE WITH CHROME YELLOW PAINT.

Late 19th century. Probably by E.G. Washburne & Company, New York. Well detailed molded copper body. Sheet copper comb, wattle and tail. Zinc legs. Perched atop a copper and zinc arrow vane. Recent chrome yellow wash over old verdigris surface with polychrome red comb and waddle. Mounted on a museum stand. SIZE: 45-1/2″ h 20″ l (rooster) 33″ l (arrow). CONDITION: Very good. Uniform surface having later chrome yellow wash. Minor fold to comb. With some moderate restoration to leg and arrow. 9-93834 (4,000-6,000) – Lot 2062
