IMPORTANT GEORGE I CARVED OAK VESTRY CABINET, DATED 1727. Very finely carved example with multi-panel lozenge carved doors above and below two diamond carved drawers. Dividers carved with full round and half round floral rosettes, chipped carved elements, heart carved motif inscribed with “IHS” and carved date of “1727”. Facade surrounded by fine architectural molding having an overhanging top with half diamond carving. Both ends paneled with five raised panels having original forged iron hinges and hardware, all constructed with large wood pegs. SIZE: 72″ h x 24-1/2″ d x 57″ w.
